SUMMARY:
At the request of City Council, staff is holding a work session on solid waste management services provided in Salem. The work session is an opportunity for Councilors to learn about the City’s solid waste system prior to the rate setting session that will be held this fall.
FACTS AND FINDINGS:
The 2019 Oregon Department of Environmental Quality Material Recovery and Waste Generation Summary for the Marion County wasteshed, Recycle Right mixed recycling guide, Curbside Recycling poster, and a list of current solid waste rates in Salem are provided in advance of the Work Session for reference.
BACKGROUND:
In December 2018, Salem City Council held a joint work session with Marion County to discuss the solid waste management system in the City and Salem and Marion County.
