SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:
A primary election was held on May 19, 2020, at which time the City of Salem had candidates for Mayor and Councilors for Wards 1, 3, 5 and 7.

FACTS AND FINDINGS:
The City Recorder’s Office has received a final official canvass of votes cast in the election certified by Marion and Polk County Clerks.
SRC 11.340 states that the Mayor shall proclaim the results of the election immediately upon receipt of the canvass of votes in an election.
