FACTS AND FINDINGS:
The City Council has expressed an interest in spending time together to build relationships with each other. A training session has been scheduled for saturday January 7, 2023. The goals of the training session are to strengthening how the City Council works together to move the City forward; discussing group norms; and exploring communication styles, expectations, and approaches. Lunch will be provided to participants and the group will take regular, short breaks throughout the session.
The session will focus on training topics and the group will not discuss substantive issues concerning City business.
BACKGROUND:
Beginning in January 2023, the majority of City Councilors will be new to the City Council. To facilitate working together in the coming year, it is important to consider communication styles and begin to develop group norms.
