FACTS AND FINDINGS:
The City Council initially declared a state of emergency related to COVID-19 on March 16, 2020 and revised and extended the state of emergency several times, most recently through June 22, 2022. The Declaration gave the City authority to require social distancing and use of face coverings at City facilities as well as the implementation of other measures to address the health and safety issues posed by the virus and response to the effects of the pandemic.
The state and federal requirements and guidance for such measures has concluded and there is no longer a need for the City’s Declaration.
The declaration of a state of emergency related to the unsheltered (Resolution No. 2021-41) remain in effect until June 28, 2022 and staff will be recommending it be extended.
