Information Only. The attached update summarizes operational changes already underway and identifies future actions that will be taken by the Police Department. The work results from Chief Womack’s engagement and familiarization with the community and department, an internal organizational review, and the Independent Assessment of the Salem Police Department’s Policies, Procedures, and Operations directed by City Council.
Under Special Orders of Business, Chief Womack will have a brief presentation highlighting the first six months of his tenure as Police Chief and what is planned for the remainder of 2021.
