SUMMARY:
Properties acquired by the City for private development projects and capital improvement projects are typically obtained by warranty deed in fee simple ownership. If the property will become part of a public street, it is later dedicated as public right-of-way with a resolution adopted by City Council.
The City recently acquired property along the east right-of-way of Park Avenue NE as a condition of a land use decision for the Park Place Apartments Development Project (Permit No. 20-103192-CO). The land is ready to be dedicated as public right-of-way with a resolution adopted by City Council.
The “AREA TO BE DEDICATED” as shown on Exhibit A of Resolution No. 2020-55 was conveyed to the City of Salem with the recording of a Warranty Deed at the Marion County Clerk’s Office.
FACTS AND FINDINGS:
1. This property acquisition was required as part of the Park Place Apartments development project.
2. The permit number of said project is 20-103192-CO.
3. The property is currently owned by the City of Salem in Fee Simple ownership.
4. Approval of Resolution No. 2020-55 by City Council will dedicate the property as public right-of-way.
