SUMMARY:
Approval of the recommendation will allow the City to receive $4,745,000 from the Urban Renewal Agency (Agency) to complete construction of the Salem Police Facility
FACTS AND FINDINGS:
The Agency has allocated a total of $4,745,000 for the construction of public components associated with the new Salem Police Station. These include the community room, public restroom facilities, public plaza, and public art.
The Police Station project funding is reflected in the adopted FY 2019-20 Public Works Capital Improvements Fund budget. The City is in the process of executing a contract for the construction of the Police Station. In order to transfer Agency funds to the City for construction costs, it is necessary for Council to authorize the attached grant agreement (Attachment 1).
