SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:

 

The Public Works Department currently maintains an in-ground sewer pump located in the street right-of-way in front of the property located at 4493 Hayesville Drive NE (Property)(Attachment 1).  The pump is at the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced with new infrastructure to serve the needs of the neighborhood. The Public Works Department desires to construct a new above ground pump station on the Property with sufficient capacity and access located outside the right-of-way.  

 

 

FACTS AND FINDINGS:

 

Staff has come to terms of an agreement (Agreement)(Attachment 2) with the owner, Jeffery L. Barnett (Seller), for acquisition of the Property. The Property contains a 1,486 square foot home on a 0.21 acre lot. The home will be razed in order to complete construction of the pump station. Key terms of the Agreement are below.

 

Sales Price:                                          $229,900

Earnest Money:                     $5,000

Closing:                                          within 60 days

 

The Property acquisition will be funded using wastewater funds.
