Approve a salary range adjustment for the Administrator of the Housing Authority.

body

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:

The Administrator provides comprehensive strategic planning, management, and, oversight to the Salem Housing Authority. The role is highly specialized, complex, and a unique position in the community. The position has responsibilities that have a direct impact on affordable public housing in the Salem/Keizer community.

FACTS AND FINDINGS:

Human Resources completed a market analysis of the compensation for the Administrator. The Administrator’s current monthly pay range is $7,314.67 to $9,353.07. The market analysis found the compensation for the Administrator is currently 10.6 percent behind the average for comparable agencies. A salary range increase of 10 percent is being recommended. The salary range would result in the new monthly range of $8,046.13 to $10,289.07 for this classification. The new salary range would bring the compensation for the position in line with the average of comparable agencies.

A salary range adjustment has no initial financial impact as it does not immediately result in an increase to the incumbent’s salary. An increase in compensation for the incumbent would occur at the discretion of the Salem Housing Authority Executive Director or at the next annual performance evaluation, whichever occurred first.
