RECOMMENDATION:
recommendation
Adopt Resolution No. 2018-18 to dedicate land acquired from the Larry Epping Building Co. as public right-of-way for Boundary Drive S.
body
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:
It is common practice to reserve a one-foot strip of land at the end of a street and not dedicate it as public right-of-way until subdivisions of adjacent land develop in the future. A one-foot reserve strip, Block B, was not dedicated as public right-of-way when the Skyline Village Phase II subdivision plat was recorded in 1978. Block B as shown on Exhibit 1 of Resolution No. 2018-18 was conveyed to the City in Reel 119, Page 826 of the Marion County Deed records. The property south of Boundary Drive S is being developed and the reserve strip needs to be dedicated as public right-of-way to allow for extension of the street.
FACTS AND FINDINGS:
Development is occurring on land adjacent to the Skyline Village Phase II subdivision. The dedication of Block B as public right-of-way will provide the necessary street connection between Boundary Drive S and Davis Road S.
