SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:
The Council Boards and Commissions Appointment Committee met on August 15, 2016, and recommends the following initial appointment.
West Salem Redevelopment Advisory Board
Created by City of Salem Resolution 2002-18, which was adopted by the City Council on January 28, 2002, for the purpose of “providing advice concerning redevelopment activities of the Urban Renewal Agency for the City of Salem, Oregon (the Agency) in the West Salem Renewal Area.” The Board shall consist of 11 members, with four persons representing the interests of business owners, property owners, and others with financial and occupational interests within the Area; one person who is an industrial owner within the Area; two persons representing the Salem community at large; one person representing the interests of business owners, property owners, and others with financial or occupational interests within the Riverfront Downtown Urban Renewal Area; and three persons representing residential areas within the boundaries of the West Salem Neighborhood Association, of which at least one is a resident living within the Area. The Boards and Commissions Appointment Committee make the following recommendation for appointment:
West Salem Redevelopment Advisory Board:
Paul Sturzinger, for a full term expiring June 30, 2019. This position represents a business or property owner with the West Salem Urban Renewal area. A copy of Mr. Sturzinger’s application is attached.
