SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:

The Mayor reviewed applications and requests for reappointment on December 12, 2018, and announced his appointments and reappointments of the candidates listed below.

Airport Advisory Commission

As described in Salem Revised Code Chapter 9, The Airport Advisory Commission (AAC) advises the Council on all airport matters.

Center 50+ Advisory Commission

The Center 50+ Advisory Commission serves as an advisory commission to the City Council and Salem Senior Center Staff in matters related to the operations of the Salem Senior Center.

Historic Landmarks Commission

The Historic Landmarks Commission advises the Council on matters pertaining to historic sites and structures in Salem, administers the Historic Preservation Ordinance, and assists property owners in preservations of such structures.

Human Rights Commission

Salem Revised Code Chapter 8 creates the Human Rights Commission, which states that appointments are made by the Mayor.

Airport Advisory Commission

Reappoint Douglas Brenizer to a term #1 with a term expiring December 31, 2021.

Reappoint John Foley to a term #1 with a term expiring December 31, 2021.

Appoint Ken Gettys to a term #1 with a term expiring December 31, 2021.

Appoint Brendan Omara to a term #1 with a term expiring December 31, 2021.

Center 50+ Advisory Commission

Reappoint Allen Jakobitz to a term #2 with a term expiring on December 31, 2021.

Historic Landmarks Commission

Reappoint Jamie French to a term #1 with a term expiring December 31, 2021.

Appoint Andrew Zimmerman to a term #1 with a term expiring December 31, 2021.

Human Rights Commission

Reappoint Rita Siong to a term #1 expiring on December 31, 2021.

Appoint Angelo Arredondo to a partial term expiring on December 31, 2020.

Appoint Nathan Schmidt to a term #1 (youth position) expiring on December 31, 2021.

Appoint Michael Watters to a term #1 expiring on December 31, 2021.
