SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:

 

The Mayor reviewed applications and announces his appointment of the candidates listed in Facts and Findings.

Center 50+ Advisory Commission

The Center 50+ Advisory Commission serves as an advisory commission to the City Council and Salem Senior Center Staff in matters related to the operations of the Salem Senior Center.

Historic Landmarks Commission

The Historic Landmarks Commission advises the Council on matters pertaining to historic sites and structures in Salem, administers the Historic Preservation Ordinance, and assists property owners in preservations of such structures.

Salem Human Rights Commission

Salem Revised Code Chapter 8 creates the Salem Human Rights Commission (formerly the Human Rights and Relations Advisory Commission), which states that appointments are made by the Mayor.

 

 

FACTS AND FINDINGS:

 

Center 50+ Advisory Commission

Appoint Trisha Irwin as to a partial term in a Community Member-Over 50 position with a term expiring December 31, 2020.

Historic Landmarks Commission

Appoint Patricia Mulvihill a partial term at-large position expiring December 31, 2019.

Appoint Tracy Schwartz to a partial term preservation professional position expiring on December 31, 2019.

Human Rights Commission

Appoint Krista Aquinas-Gallagher to a partial term expiring on December 31, 2019.

Appoint Christine Detrois to a partial term expiring on December 31, 2019.
