Shall City Council advance Ordinance Bill No. 6-26, approving the annexation of territory located at 2170 Walker Road NE and 4893 Sunnyview Road NE, changing the zoning and comprehensive plan designations, and withdrawal of the territory from the Marion County Fire District No. 1 and East Salem Sewer and Drainage District, to second reading for enactment?

FACTS AND FINDINGS:

 

The annexation request is for an approximate 18.91-acre territory located at 2170 Walker Road NE and 4893 Sunnyview Road NE (Marion County Assessor Map and Tax Lot Nos.: 072W17C000203 and 072W17CC03600). A vicinity map identifying the location of the territory is included as Attachment 1. The facts and findings supporting the annexation, the comprehensive plan map amendment and zone change, and the withdrawal from the Marion County Fire District No. 1 and East Salem Sewer and Drainage District are included in Ordinance Bill No. 6-26 (Attachment 2). The map and legal description of the territory are included as Exhibit A to the ordinance.    

 

BACKGROUND:

 

The City Council held a public hearing on the proposed Annexation and Minor Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment and Zone Change on April 13, 2026. The Council closed the public hearing, conducted deliberations, and voted to approve the Annexation and Comprehensive Plan Map amendment and Zone Change request.
