Marion County has authorized $100,000 to be granted to the City of Salem to assist with the terminal renovation project to support the return of commercial air service.  $50,000 has been authorized for reimbursement in current FY23 and an additional $50,000 has been authorized in the upcoming FY24.

Authorize the City Manager to execute Intergovernmental Agreement CS-5376-23 between Marion County and the City of Salem.

FACTS AND FINDINGS:

 

The terminal renovation project is expected to be substantially complete in early June.

 

Once executed by both parties, the IGA will allow Marion County to reimburse the City of Salem for a portion of the terminal renovation project.

 

BACKGROUND:

 

In its work session on March 9, 2023, the Marion County Commissioners authorized up to $100,000 in funding to the City of Salem to offset the costs of the nearly $1.9M terminal renovation project. The authorization includes $50,000 of reimbursable costs in the current fiscal year and an additional $50,000 in the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023.
