FACTS AND FINDINGS:
Information from different City departments has been combined into the attached tables separated by county for easy reference. The accompanying pie charts summarize the purposes of the property in the City’s portfolio.
Through detailed research, including cross-referencing parcel identification numbers, tax lot numbers, property addresses, and location descriptions, staff has successfully identified and assigned every City-owned property to an existing project or operational purpose. The market values provided are from county assessor information and are only estimates. Current market values would require that appraisals be completed.
This has been a large task and the results will allow us to take a closer look at the parcels to confirm their use and need. Initial observations have confirmed that there are no large unaccounted or unused parcels currently in the City’s real estate portfolio.
Looking ahead, this information will be integrated into the City’s GIS system, enabling staff to perform real-time updates, access property data more efficiently, generate rental income projections, and streamline research across departments.
BACKGROUND:
In the past, each City department maintained its own list of City-owned and leased properties to meet program-specific needs, such as leasehold interests, wetlands, stormwater facilities, parks, office buildings, and insurance requirements. These records have now been consolidated into a single, centralized portfolio.
