recommendation

Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached IGA between the City and the Agency for fleet shop services through June 30, 2024.

body

SUMMARY:

The City of Aumsville Police Department has experienced difficulty obtaining satisfactory maintenance and repair services for their vehicles in the local area. The City of Aumsville Police Department has asked the City of Salem to provide maintenance and repair to their vehicles.  The City provides similar services to Marion County Fire District and Keizer Fire District.  The IGA will allow the City to provide the requested vehicle maintenance and repair services for the Agency through June 30, 2024

FACTS AND FINDINGS:

The City of Aumsville Police Department is requesting assistance from the City. The local dealers and repair shops are not able to prioritize the Agency vehicles causing service disruption while vehicles wait be repaired.

City Fleet Services technicians are trained and certified to address problems on police vehicles. The City’s Fleet Services currently has a similar agreement with the Marion County Fire District and Keizer Fire District. Fleet Services has sufficient capacity to meet the current service needs and accommodate the work anticipated in the IGA. Fleet Services’ hourly shop rate is comparable with area vendors who perform similar vehicle maintenance and repairs.

The annual revenue generated by this agreement is estimated to be less than $10,000. The IGA provides conditions and a billable rate for performing fleet services for the District until June 30, 2024.
