MOTION:
I move to direct staff to initiate an amendment to the Unified Development Code to eliminate the Superior-Rural, Oxford-West Nob Hill, Oxford-Hoyt, Hoyt/McGilchrist, and Saginaw Street overlay zones along Commercial Street, SE.
DISCUSSION:
The SCAN Neighborhood Association recently requested the MU-II zoning for this area, which aligns with the Our Salem plan and the Climate Action Plan. These existing overlays complicate the process and diminish the potential in this walkable neighborhood with access to frequent transit. This change will provide more opportunities to meet our housing, walkability, and climate goals.
