FACTS AND FINDINGS:
Executive Director Angie Villery requested to provide an informational report to City Council. The report provides a look back at Travel Salem’s Core Focus and Performance Measures achieved in FY 2024-2025 and provides key insights into Salem’s tourism industry. Travel Salem presented their annual report to the Cultural Tourism Promotion Advisory Board (CTPAB) on December 18, 2025.
BACKGROUND:
Travel Salem is the City’s Destination Marketing Organization. The City directed $1,312,945.32 of Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) to Travel Salem in accordance with Salem Revised Code (SRC) 37 directed 25% allocation of annual TOT revenues, along with $1,072,079.68 from the Tourism Promotion Area (TPA) fee as stipulated by SRC 38 for the fiscal year 2024-2025.
