FACTS AND FINDINGS:
Following a review of current applications, on April 16, 2024 the Council Board and Commission Appointments Committee makes the following recommendations:
Salem Public Library Advisory Board
• Appoint Camryn Pickworth to a full-term, beginning on July 1, 2024 and expiring June 30, 2028.
Community Police Review Board
• Appoint Kyle Hedquist to a full-term expiring January 1, 2026.
• Appoint Kelly Raths to a full-term expiring January 1, 2026.
Salem Planning Commission
• Appoint Benjamin Fryback to a partial term expiring December 31, 2024.
Salem Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
• Appoint Mauricio Floresto a partial term expiring December 31, 2024.
• Appoint Zachary Hammerle to a full-term expiring December 31, 2026.
BACKGROUND:
Authority for the Community Police Review Board is set forth in SRC Chapter 201, with members to be appointed by City Council.
Authority for the Planning Commission is set forth in SRC Chapter 6 (dated 3/2009) most recent ordinance 47/06
Authority for the Salem Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is set forth in SRC Chapter 13 (dated 6/2009).
Authority for the Salem Public Library Advisory Board is set forth in SRC Chapter 18 (last printing 3/2009) most recent ordinance 51-96, with members to be appointed by City Council.
