The collective bargaining agreement is posted online at City of Salem Labor Contracts page: <https://salemcityofor.prod.govaccess.org/government/jobs/employment-information/pay-plans-and-labor-contracts>
The approximate financial impact of this recommended settlement for the duration of the agreement is as follows:
Year 1: $361,774
Year 2: $765,319
Year 3: $1,002,642
The approximate total financial impact is $2,129,735. It is anticipated the Fire Department’s operational division of the Willamette Valley Communications Center (WVCC) will absorb the additional first year cost in its FY 2024 budget. The employees of PCEA are paid out of the Willamette Valley Communications Fund, which is separate and distinct from the General Fund. Funding for the Willamette Valley Communications Fund is primarily driven by member agency rates for service. The City of Salem's General Fund pays into the WVCC Fund along with 28 other member agencies.
