Airport Advisory Commission
Appoint James Hutches to a term #1 representing an Active Pilot expiring 12/31/28.
Historic Landmarks Commission
Appoint Drew Cornedi to a term #1 representing At-Large expiring 12/31/28.
Human Rights Commission
Appoint to Mike Sewell a full term expiring 12/31/27
Appoint Georgia Smith to a full term expiring 12/31/28
Appoint Katelyn Beissel Rosales to a full term representing Youth expiring 12/31/27.
BACKGROUND:
Airport Advisory Commission - Authority: SRC Chapter 9.300-9.305
At least two members of the commission shall be active pilots holding a current valid pilot's license with a rating of private pilot or higher. At least one member shall be a resident of the ward in which the airport is located (Ward 2). One member shall be an individual as a representative of the Army Aviation Support Facility after considering the recommendation of the Adjutant General.
Historic Landmarks Commission - Authority: SRC Chapter 20C
At least five of the members shall meet the United States Secretary of the Interior's Historic Preservation Qualification Standards, to the extent that professionals meeting those standards are available in the community. In making such appointments, the Mayor should consider the applicants' qualifications in the fields of archaeology, architectural history, conservation, cultural anthropology, curator, engineering, folklore, historic architecture, historic landscape architecture, historic preservation, historic preservation planning, and history. The Mayor may also consider applicants' qualifications in the fields of construction, restoration, real estate, local history, and architecture as these fields are directly related to the routine functions of the commission.
Human Rights Commission - Authority: SRC Chapter 8
Appointments are to be representative of the residents of the City of Salem.
