ISSUE:
Shall City Council authorize the City Manager to resolve a workers’ compensation claim for Adam Bello in the amount not to exceed $65,000.00.
RECOMMENDATION:

Authorize the City Manager to resolve the matter of Adam Bello’s workers’ compensation claim in an amount of $65,000.00. Payment will be made from the City’s self-insurance claim fund.

FACTS AND FINDINGS:
Mr. Bello is a former Salem Police Officer who is unable to return to service due to issues related to his service to the city. Applicable law restricts disclosure of the nature of the claim. The terms of the settlement constitute a full and final settlement of claim. The Enterprise Services Director and Risk Manager recommend the City Council to authorize the City Manager to settle this claim as outlined.
