FACTS AND FINDINGS:
The Salem Mayor makes City Council Committee assignments, in consultation with members of City Council. Mayor Julie Hoy anticipates the attached set of assignments taking into account Councilor interests, and balances these volunteer assignments based on meeting frequency and other factors. Mayor Julie Hoy anticipates an opportunity to consider alternate assignments, following the addition of a Council member representing Ward 6 from the special election in May.
The 2025 Salem City Council Committee assignments were originally transmitted to Salem City Council on January 27, 2025. Since that date, assignments have been updated to reflect one change to the assignment representing Salem on the Salem/Keizer Area Transportation Study Policy Committee (SKATS). Councilor Tigan will now serve as the City’s representative; with Councilor Varney in alternate position.
